An impossible task?
Can we really make a difference in reaching America?
The math, I realize, is insane. If among America’s more than 300 million people, 205 million still do not know Christ as Savior, then bringing 205 million people to Jesus seems an impossible task.
Mission America reports there are 6,000 unreached people groups in the USA in addition to the Caucasians and African-Americans who grow up unchurched and never receive a presentation of the gospel, or never receive one they understand and respond to.
It is this vast mission field — where the media is hostile toward faith, the government suppresses faith, and many people have no background at all for understanding faith — into which I am asking you and your church to go and to carry the faith.
Who can overcome the impossible?
I can’t. You can’t. Your church can’t.
But what may look impossible to a person with no faith looks doable to a person with faith the size of a mustard seed.
Impossibility thinkers will always give you a bunch of reasons why your plan won’t work.
You can’t let them put your 11-by-17 picture in a 5-by-7 frame!
Charles Spurgeon said our God delights in impossibilities.
The Bible says with God, nothing shall be impossible (Luke 1:37).
Impossibility is no barrier when you are following God’s call.
In this edition you will see the hope of accomplishing this impossible task in God’s simple plan of planting churches. It is my conviction that every church should be a “planting” church. Your church location, size, wealth or demographic won’t hold you back. It just doesn’t matter. If you trust God and go for it, you can do it too!
Think about it as you read these pages. You really can make a difference in reaching America!
