    By Jean S. Horner
The other day while walking down a corridor in a public building, I saw what appeared to be someone walking toward me. On coming closer, I found it was my own reflection in a huge mirror. For a moment it frightened me. Somehow a full-length reflection of one’s self is a startling thing. ...

June 14, 2010 - Assurance

By Dorothy Rugg

I have a question for you. Are you assured of God’s love for you, or are you living in uncertainty? If you have not discovered the bedrock assurance of your Heavenly Father’s love for you, on what are you placing your assurance? We need to make sure that our assurance is founded in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Scripture tells us in Ephesians 1:7, “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” (NKJV).

We can be certain that God loves us and God has made a way for us to enjoy a wonderful relationship with Him. It is through His Son Jesus Christ; we only need to call upon Him and invite Him into our lives.

Let these assuring Scriptures speak life into your day.

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand” (John 10:27-29).

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38,39).

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6).

“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God” (1 John 5:13).

In an uncertain world, you can be secure in God because His Word is truth. Be assured of God’s love for you. Your Heavenly Father is waiting this very minute for you to call out to Him.
