The other day while walking down a corridor in a public building, I saw what appeared to be someone walking toward me. On coming closer, I found it was my own reflection in a huge mirror. For a moment it frightened me. Somehow a full-length reflection of one’s self is a startling thing. ...

August 16, 2012 - Blessed Assurance

By Gary Rogers

Here is an amazing truth: You can know for sure you are headed to heaven! You can eliminate every question and doubt that your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, allowing entrance into the eternal reward of God.

Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? If the answer is yes, then to live with insecurity concerning your eternity is to belittle the accomplishments of Christ on Calvary. Was the blood of Jesus enough to forgive all the sins of your past? The answer is yes. Jesus died for your sins. Jesus paid the price in full. If you confess your sins, He does forgive! The forgiveness found in Jesus is complete.

Jude 24,25 says, “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen” (NKJV).

What about today’s temptations? God is able to keep you from stumbling! If Jesus died on the cross and paid the price for your sins, then He can be your source of victory in living an overcoming life each day. Jesus gives power to overcome the spiritual attacks you face. You should not expect to fail.

What if you sin? Forgiveness is assured when you confess any sin. Your heart’s expectation should be God’s continued forgiveness when you sin and repent, and His continued enablement to grow in your faith to become more like His Son. Your future should be seen as a believer standing strong and stable.

God is able to present you faultless in heaven! As you rely on His grace each day, you can look forward in confidence to the day you will stand before the throne of God ready to receive His approval. There will be no rejection. There will be no punishment. There will be no condemnation. In heaven you will receive the reward Jesus purchased and that God desires to give.
