The other day while walking down a corridor in a public building, I saw what appeared to be someone walking toward me. On coming closer, I found it was my own reflection in a huge mirror. For a moment it frightened me. Somehow a full-length reflection of one’s self is a startling thing. ...

Hey Kids!

Before we dive into this great collection of stories from our Kids Edition archive, I wanted you to meet Mark Entzminger, senior director of children’s ministries for the Assemblies of God. Mark recently answered some questions for me, and I thought I’d share his answers with you. — Petey

Petey — What are some of the newest ways kids are being discipled?

Mark — In January the Assemblies of God and OneHope launched Incredible Islands. This is a brand-new virtual world that allows kids to engage in Scripture all through the week in a fun and exciting way. Take a look at all the great things you can do with your church by asking your parents to take you online to incredibleislands.com.

Petey — How can kids make a difference in their church?

Mark — There are always opportunities to make a difference by helping a teacher or encouraging a friend. One of the most powerful things a child can do, however, is to pray. Pray that God would speak to the leaders and teachers. Pray that He would help you share His love with others. Pray that He will work miracles. Ask Jesus to speak to you and then give you the strength to obey.

Petey — What is one great way children can talk to their friends about Jesus?

Mark — If you have ever had an experience where you weren’t invited to a super fun birthday party, you know what it feels like to be left out. No one wants to be forgotten. When we tell our friends about Jesus, we are inviting them to know their Heavenly Father and be with Him and us for eternity.

Petey — What is one thing you would like to tell every child in church today?

Mark — Fall in love with Jesus and know His Word. Every word of the Bible was written to you, today, right where you are. Don’t think that you have to be a teenager or adult to know God and do awesome things for Him. The Holy Spirit will empower you to live for Him and make a difference in the world.

Petey — Why is the Pentecostal Evangel Kids Edition a great magazine to give to a friend?

Mark — The Pentecostal Evangel Kids Edition is filled with great stories and fun activities. I’m sure your friends would love to check it out. Ask for an extra copy to take to a friend today.
