Hey Kids!

Welcome to another issue of the Pentecostal Evangel made just for you (with the help of Gospel Publishing House and *Faith Case).

Do you like to go to the grocery store with your dad or mom? Along with canned goods, milk, eggs and cereal, they probably pick up some fresh fruit. Bright yellow bananas, crispy red and gold apples, vitamin C-filled oranges — these are just some of the fruits available in most stores.

Fruit provides an important part of your nutrition and helps your body stay healthy and strong. Did you know God talks about a different kind of fruit in the Bible, the fruit of His Holy Spirit that helps you live for Him?

God’s spiritual fruit is “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (Galatians 5:22,23, NIV). (All bible verses in this issue are from the New International Version.)

Notice that God’s spiritual fruit “is” all of these wonderful things. You might choose to eat just apples or bananas. But when God’s Holy Spirit is at work in your life, you get the entire wonderful package of His amazing fruit.
