    By Jean S. Horner
The other day while walking down a corridor in a public building, I saw what appeared to be someone walking toward me. On coming closer, I found it was my own reflection in a huge mirror. For a moment it frightened me. Somehow a full-length reflection of one’s self is a startling thing. ...

Fruit of the Spirit: Kindness

Truth Verse
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32

Think about a time when you were sick. Did someone take good care of you? If so, that person was a great example of kindness.

In Luke 6:35, the Bible tells us that God is kind. The best example of God’s kindness is when He forgives our sins when we accept Jesus as our Savior.

What does showing kindness look like? Isaiah 40:11 compares God’s kindness to the way a shepherd carries his lambs close to his heart. Maybe you’ve shown kindness to a favorite pet like this.

In Luke 10:25-37 Jesus taught about kindness when He described how the good Samaritan helped the injured man. The good Samaritan showed kindness without being asked and without expecting something in return. He was kind because he truly cared about others.

Ephesians 4:32 tells us to be kind to everyone. This verse also reminds us to forgive others because God has forgiven us. By being kind to others, we show them that God loves them. Even if people don’t show kindness to us, we should still be kind and care about them because that’s what God does. He’s kind to everyone.
