Fruit of the Spirit: Faithfulness

Truth Verse
“A faithful man will be richly blessed.” — Proverbs 28:20

Faithfulness is refusing to quit and choosing to keep our commitments to God and others too.

Have you ever made a promise to someone that you didn’t keep? Have you ever told a friend you’d do something with them, then changed your mind and done something else with someone else? Have you ever quit a sport because you didn’t like to practice? These are examples of times when you need more faithfulness.

God is a perfect example of faithfulness. First Corinthians 1:9 tells us God is faithful. We can count on Him to be the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Everything we believe as Christians is based on God’s faithfulness. Because God has been faithful in everything He promised, we can be certain that He will be faithful in the things that haven’t happened yet — like living forever with Him in heaven.

Matthew 25:21 tells us that if we are faithful with a few things, God will put us in charge of more things. He will help our faithfulness to grow. God wants us to be faithful and never quit trusting in Him.
