    By Jean S. Horner
The other day while walking down a corridor in a public building, I saw what appeared to be someone walking toward me. On coming closer, I found it was my own reflection in a huge mirror. For a moment it frightened me. Somehow a full-length reflection of one’s self is a startling thing. ...

God's Plan: It's as Simple as ABC

Apr. 14, 2013

As far back as the Garden of Eden, God warned Adam and Eve of the danger of sin. Again and again in the Bible, God reminds us that sin can ruin our lives. But unless God does something miraculous in our lives, we simply cannot avoid sin.

But God has done something miraculous. He sent His Son, Jesus, to defeat the power of sin. Jesus did that by dying on the cross and coming back to life. His death paid the price for every sin we could ever commit. We can come into God’s family without the sin that stains our lives and keeps us far from Him. When we believe in Jesus as our Savior, we are forgiven of our sins and can be saved from the damage that sin causes.

If you want to be saved from sin’s “stain,” it’s as simple as ABC.

AAdmit you have sinned. Tell God you know you have done wrong things and you are sorry for them. The Bible says in Romans 3:23 that everybody sins. God wants to forgive you.

B Believe in Jesus. Just believe He really is God’s Son and that He died (He came back to life, too) so you could be saved. John 3:16 says God loves all of us so much He sent His Son so we could have eternal life. Telling God you have sinned won’t make Him stop loving you. He loves you already. Believing in Jesus is part of what people mean when they talk about “asking Jesus to come into your heart.” You’re saying to God, “I know Jesus died for me. I want Him to be my Savior.”

CConfess and leave your sin behind. The Bible says in 1 John 1:9 that when we confess our sins, God forgives us and makes our lives pure. It’s just like we didn’t sin in the first place. And this is the part you need to remember whenever you sin again. Because even when you have Jesus as your Savior, you still do some wrong things. Remember, God is always ready to forgive you and help you live for Him..
