The other day while walking down a corridor in a public building, I saw what appeared to be someone walking toward me. On coming closer, I found it was my own reflection in a huge mirror. For a moment it frightened me. Somehow a full-length reflection of one’s self is a startling thing. ...

Frozen Soccer Balls from Outer Space

May 18, 2014

The largest hailstone ever found in the United States dropped out of the sky onto Nebraska in the summer of 2003. It was almost the size of a soccer ball! A hailstone that size can do some major damage: shattering windows, crunching cars, even punching holes in the roofs of houses. The huge ball of ice is still being preserved at a research center in Colorado.

The Bible says that someday even bigger hailstones will fall from the sky. The Book of Revelation talks about a future storm that will drop chunks of ice weighing about 100 pounds each (Revelation 16:21). That would be bigger than a giant beach ball!

Thankfully, those who know Jesus don’t have to worry about being around for that. We look forward to an event called the Rapture when Jesus will take His followers to heaven. Everyone who believes in Jesus will live with Him forever. Even Christians who have died and been buried will come out of their graves and go to heaven to be with Jesus. So while Earth is being pounded by monster hail, God’s people will be in the coolest place of all!
